Nina Kraviz

Nina Kraviz is a Russian DJ, producer, and vocalist, widely recognized as one of the most influential figures in contemporary electronic and techno music. Born on October 12, 1982, in Irkutsk, Siberia, she began her career with a passion for music that blended electronic experimentation with deep emotional resonance, eventually rising to international fame as a trailblazing artist, label owner, and performer.

Before her musical breakthrough, Nina studied dentistry and even worked as a dentist in Moscow while pursuing her love for music on the side. She later moved fully into the electronic scene, performing in Moscow’s underground clubs and becoming part of a new wave of DJs pushing the boundaries of techno in Russia and beyond.

Her first major success came in 2009 with the release of the track “Pain in the Ass”, followed by a series of powerful singles on influential labels such as Rekids and Naïf. However, it was her self-titled debut album, Nina Kraviz (2012), that truly established her as a global icon. The album, a blend of deep house, acid techno, and minimalist textures, showcased her distinctive production style and hypnotic vocals. Tracks like “Ghetto Kraviz” became international hits and are now considered classics in the electronic music world.

Known for her unique DJ sets, Nina Kraviz has headlined some of the world’s biggest festivals and clubs — including Coachella, Awakenings, Time Warp, Dekmantel, Sonar, and Tomorrowland — and is especially celebrated for her powerful performances at Berghain in Berlin, the global temple of techno. Her sets are characterized by bold transitions, unexpected track selections, and a willingness to experiment with tempo and texture — often blending acid, house, trance, industrial techno, and experimental sounds into a deeply immersive experience.

In 2014, Nina founded her own record label, трип (Trip), which quickly became one of the most respected underground labels in the world. The label focuses on avant-garde electronic and techno music, promoting boundary-pushing artists like Bjarki, PTU, and K-Hand. Through трип, Nina has championed a unique, emotional, and often psychedelic vision of electronic music.

Nina Kraviz is also known for her strong artistic identity and individuality. She has often spoken about the challenges of being a woman in the male-dominated world of techno, yet she has always insisted on being recognized for her artistry rather than her gender. Her visual aesthetic — minimalist yet provocative — reflects her boldness, creativity, and refusal to conform to traditional norms.

Throughout her career, Nina has received numerous accolades, including being named one of the Top 10 DJs in the world by Mixmag and DJ Mag. Her influence extends beyond music: she has modeled for fashion brands, appeared in film soundtracks, and collaborated with multimedia artists on experimental projects.

Today, Nina Kraviz stands as a symbol of authenticity, innovation, and artistic freedom. Whether behind the decks, in the studio, or running her label, she continues to shape the global electronic scene with her fearless energy and deep connection to the emotional power of sound.
