Majed el mohandes

Majed Al Mohandes (also spelled Majid Al Muhandis, Al Mohandis) is a Iraqi singer and composer, also holding Saudi citizenship.

He was born on October 25, 1971 in Baghdad, Iraq.

Early in his career, the poet Aziz El Rassam gave him the nickname “Al Mohandes” (which means The Engineer) because Majed had studied aeronautical engineering.

Majed’s breakthrough came with his first album “Wa7echni Mout” (I Miss You to Death), which expressed his deep attachment to his Iraqi roots.

He has had a long collaboration with Rotana Records, renewing his contract repeatedly since 2005.

Majed is also known for his warm, expressive voice and romantic lyrical themes, which have made him one of the most beloved contemporary singers in the Middle East.

In recognition of his success, he has received several awards, including Best Arab Singer in 2005 for “Wa7echni Mout”.

He is active still, releasing new songs, performing major concerts (for example in Abu Dhabi), and maintaining a strong presence in Arab music media.
