DJ Khaled

DJ Khaled (real name Khaled Mohamed Khaled, born November 26, 1975, in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA) is an American DJ, record producer, record executive, and media personality, known for his larger-than-life personality, motivational catchphrases, and his role in uniting some of the biggest names in hip-hop, R&B, and pop music.

Of Palestinian descent, Khaled was raised in Miami, Florida, where his parents, both musicians, inspired his love for Arabic and American music. He began his career as a radio DJ in the 1990s on Miami’s urban music station 99 Jamz (WEDR). His charisma and ear for hits quickly earned him attention in the hip-hop community, leading to collaborations with local artists such as Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, and Birdman.

In 2006, DJ Khaled released his debut album Listennn… the Album, which marked his entry into the mainstream music industry. However, his major breakthrough came with his third studio album, We the Best (2007), which included the hit single “I’m So Hood” featuring T-Pain, Trick Daddy, Rick Ross, and Plies. From there, Khaled became known for his all-star collaborations, bringing together some of the biggest artists in the world on one track.

This period coincided with a string of chart-topping hits, including “I’m the One” featuring Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper, and Lil Wayne, and “Wild Thoughts” featuring Rihanna and Bryson Tiller.

His albums Major Key (2016), Grateful (2017), and Father of Asahd (2019) all debuted near or at the top of the Billboard 200 chart, with Grateful producing two U.S. number-one singles. His collaborations with artists like Drake, Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Post Malone, Cardi B, Future, and Lil Baby have further cemented his reputation as a master curator and cultural connector.

In addition to his music career, DJ Khaled is an entrepreneur, author, and philanthropist. He has launched ventures in fashion, wellness, and luxury goods, and released a best-selling book, The Keys (2016), which offers motivational lessons on success and perseverance.
